Many of today’s young people don’t have the skills needed for success in everyday life. What are these life skills? Here’s a comprehensive list.

I hear a lot of talk these days about teaching life skills to children. I’m pretty sure my grandparents, great-grandparents, and the scores of generations that came before them never used the term “life skills.” They taught children the sort of things that we refer to as life skills because these are the things people needed to know in order … [Read more...] about Comprehensive List of Life Skills for Ages 2-18

Looking for Jesus on Every Page

September 18, 2017 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

My daughter looks for Jesus on every page of her storybook Bible. When was the last time I looked at the situations I face and asked, “Where’s Jesus?”

I read to my kiddos from a storybook Bible each day. My older child, who is nearly 3, recognizes the illustration that depicts Jesus. September 4, 2017 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Inconveniences are unavoidable. How can we respond well to inconveniences and take advantage of those that have the potential to be beneficial?

I don’t like being inconvenienced. When I’ve got my 3-year-old by the hand, the diaper bag on my back, my 14-month-old on my hip, and we’re headed out the door, I don’t like having to stop and reverse because my younger girl just pooped in her diaper. I don’t like when we’re poised to arrive at an appointment in the nick of time, but then … [Read more...] about 4 Ways to Embrace Inconvenience

Book Review: Pierced and Embraced

August 30, 2017 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Quote from Pierced and Embraced

I’ve read a number of Christian living books that were written specifically for women. I feel that many of these are a bit cheesy or superficial. Regardless of the reason, I was uncertain what to expect when Moody Publishers … [Read more...] about Book Review: Pierced and Embraced
