Caramel Apple Nachos

December 9, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

My Bible study group had dinner together the week before Thanksgiving. We decided to make breakfast burritos, so everyone was bringing ingredients to make these. I wanted to bring some fruit as a side dish/dessert, so I decided to make some apple “nachos” to go with our breakfast burritos.

Sliced apples topped with caramel, pecans, and toffee pieces comprise Caramel Apple Nachos, a convenient and flavorful snack or dessert.

I’ve seen dozens of pictures of apple nachos on Pinterest and recipe websites. These nachos aren’t made with tortilla chips, of course. These are made of sliced apples that are drizzled and sprinkled with a variety of yummy toppings. I kept mine simple by making a caramel apple variety. They were a hit with everyone attending the dinner.

Ingredients

  • 3 large apples, cored and sliced (I used Granny Smith)
  • 6 oz. caramel dip, warmed so it can be drizzled
  • ½-1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½-1 cup English toffee pieces

Instructions

Arrange the apple slices on a tray or large plate. Drizzle with the caramel. Sprinkle with the pecans and toffee pieces. Yield: 6-8 servings.

Notes

These nachos are great because they have all of the flavor of caramel apples, but they are easy to prepare and eat. As you can see from the ingredient list, I didn’t measure the pecans and toffee pieces precisely. You can use as much or as little as you’d like!

If you are not going to serve the nachos immediately, then you may want to soak the apple slices in water and a little lemon juice before you prepare the nachos. This will help reduce how quickly they brown.

There are so many ways to prepare apple nachos. In the future, I’m going to try some of the following toppings:

  • Melted chocolate (milk, dark, and/or white)
  • Chocolate or butterscotch chips
  • Almonds, peanuts, and other nuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Raisins or dried cranberries
  • Peanut butter or other nut butters
  • Shredded coconut
  • Crushed Oreos or Reese’s Pieces
  • Ground cinnamon

Do these sound good to you? What would you like on your apple nachos?

What a great idea to add some toffee pieces! I love apple nachos; but I don’t make them nearly often enough. Thanks for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.
