These soft and sweet cookies are similar to traditional sugar cookies but they have a pop of lemon flavor that makes them a bit more exciting!

I love the flavor of lemon. However, as I’ve noted before, my husband tends to prefer bland foods. These cookies are a great compromise. They’re similar to traditional sugar cookies, but they have a hint of lemon. My girls will eat just about any cookie, so these are a hit with the whole family! Ingredients (Adapted from this recipe.) 3 … [Read more...] about Lemon Sugar Cookies

May 6, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Get your family to eat more veggies with this mouthwatering casserole! They won’t be able to resist its rich, cheesy flavor and creamy texture.

This is another recipe I’ve tried in my ongoing saga to get my kids to eat more vegetables. Alfredo sauce is a huge hit in my house and, surprisingly, all of my girls will eat broccoli. Thus, I figured I’d try to mix these two items with another veggie. The result was this casserole. I actually hesitate to call it a casserole because … [Read more...] about Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo Spaghetti Squash Casserole

Printable Easter Story Word Clouds

April 18, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

These printable word clouds of the Easter story are a lovely item to decorate our homes and a fun way to meditate on the meaning of Easter.

As I did at Christmas, for Easter I’m sharing words from the Bible in the form of word clouds. The word cloud pictured above contains the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Word clouds are images comprised of the words used in a particular text. In this case, the text is Mark 15:22-39 and 16:1-7. The size of each word in the cloud … [Read more...] about Printable Easter Story Word Clouds

All-Purpose Seasoning

April 15, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

This all-purpose seasoning, made with ingredients you likely have on hand, adds a wonderful flavor to your favorite dishes.

I end up pulling the same spices out of the pantry almost every night when I make dinner. This is because I season most of our dishes in the same way. I realized some time ago that it would be a lot simpler to go ahead and mix these spices together and keep them in a jar or canister so I have a ready-to-use mixture. I finally got around … [Read more...] about All-Purpose Seasoning

April 11, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Bakeware organizers and pot racks can store chunky puzzles and peg puzzles! Here’s how to use these simple tools to organize your kids’ puzzles.

A couple of months ago I shared some ideas I’d come across online for organizing kids’ puzzles. I was trying to find a storage solution for the puzzles we keep on a couple of shelves in our living room. There are several great ideas in that post, but we’ve ended up using kitchenware organizers to store our puzzles. We ordered 2 sets of … [Read more...] about Use Bakeware Organizers to Store Kids’ Puzzles

This easy-to-prepare Fruit Slaw makes a wonderfully sweet and tangy addition to any spring or summer meal.

I feel like I’m on a never-ending adventure to get my kids to eat more vegetables. They do really well with fruit, but the oldest two don’t like many vegetables and they’re hesitant to try new ones. I decided to try giving them a fruit salad that has a vegetable in it. My middle child does like eating lettuce from salads on occasion, so … [Read more...] about Fruit Slaw with Raspberry Poppy Seed Dressing

5 Reasons I No Longer Apologize for My Messy House

March 18, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

You may find a mess if you unexpectedly stop by my house. Come on in because you are welcome here, but I won’t apologize for the mess. Here’s why.

A couple of weeks ago one of my neighbors stopped by and asked if she could come in and visit for a few minutes. Though I have no desire to pretend like I have it all together, I do have a bit of pride and I was incredibly embarrassed regarding the state of my house. If I let her in, my neighbor would walk through a dining room that I … [Read more...] about 5 Reasons I No Longer Apologize for My Messy House
