December 2021 Dinner Menu

November 27, 2021 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

The Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. I am thrilled to be listening to Christmas music, baking cookies, wrapping gifts, sharing the Jesse Tree tradition with my family, drinking peppermint hot chocolate, etc.

What’s for dinner in my house during December 2021? Menu items include Harvest Fall Salad, Creamy Mushroom Chicken, and Taco Soup.

As happened last month, I’m confident this month’s menu will undergo some changes as we near the end of the month. Between company coming into town and the general bustle of Christmas, we’ll likely get some takeout from restaurants and make a few other spur-of-the-moment changes to the menu. For the time being, here is our menu for December 2021 (you can view past menus on the series page).

These meals all look so yummy! I envision our meals this month looking a lot like those of the past few weeks-a lot of soups 🙂 Even though it’s not that cold in Oklahoma currently (we’re in the 70s all week-what a nice way to begin December!!!), I like how easy they are-and that if I make a huge batch, one soup or chili can last us 2-3 dinners 🙂 Currently some Irish Beef Stew for some friends is simmering on my stove, but I think I’ll probably make a batch for us soon because it’s smelling good!

We have also been in the 70s (even in the 80s for several days). Soups are one of my favorite things to make because they are typically easy to prepare and freeze well so we can eat leftovers at a later date. My girls used to love soups, but outside of cheese broccoli soup (which I make for lunch when my husband is at work because he doesn’t like it) they haven’t been interested in soups lately. I hope this changes soon!
