I was thinking the same thing as we were putting our menu together for November; knowing we’d probably have to make changes at the end of the month I tried to keep our meals simple. This sounds like you have a delicious month planned.

We’ll definitely have changes, but at least I’ll have this to guide me when we do have normal nights!

Shannon … your post made me realize (with great joy!!) that I’m not cooking either Thanksgiving OR Christmas this year!
I love having my daughters move into this role … and I’m glad to simply play a supportive role.

How neat, Linda, to be in this place! My daughters (ages 7, 5, and 3) are becoming really interested in helping out in the kitchen. I know they will be doing a lot to help this Thanksgiving. I’ll remember your comment for inspiration at those times when their “help” feels more like extra work!
Catherine Sokolowski says
Everything sounds delicious. I don’t know which recipe to try first!
Shannon says
Thanks, Catherine! There are a lot of yummy ones.

You are so smart to plan your meals out for the entire month.

I’ve tried a variety of approaches over the years, and this is the one that worked best. Different things work for different families, so what is “smart” really depends on the family. I think the key is figuring out what that looks like for you.
