Snickerdoodle Apple Cobbler

October 19, 2021 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Because it’s fall, we’ve been eating a lot of pumpkin-flavored treats. However, I love a variety of fall flavors, so this past week we tried a new dessert: Snickerdoodle Apple Cobbler.

In this cobbler, the delicious flavors of snickerdoodle and tart apple come together to create an irresistible treat!

The flavor of this cobbler was incredible! If you like apples and snickerdoodles, then you’ll want to give this one a try ASAP.

Ingredients

(Significantly adapted from this recipe.)

  • 6 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 1 package (17.9 oz) snickerdoodle cookie mix
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (I used pecans)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, toss the apples with the sugar, cinnamon, and apple juice; spread into a greased 9×13-in. baking dish.

In a medium bowl, stir together the cookie mix and the cinnamon-sugar packet that came with it. Sprinkle the cookie mix over the apples. Drizzle with the melted butter. Top with the pecans or walnuts.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. Serve warm. Yield: 10 servings.

Notes

My girls and I kept going back for seconds of this cobbler, so it didn’t last long! The flavor was perfect for a fall treat. The only thing I’ll change when I make this again is to make more of it! We were so pleased with its flavor that I didn’t think about topping it with anything, but you can’t go wrong with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I used a box of snickerdoodle cookie mix for convenience (I used the Krusteaz brand), but you can use a homemade variety if you prefer. Simply mix the dry ingredients for making snickerdoodles and top the apples with this mixture.

If you’d like some additional ideas for fall treats, then check out my post on 27 fall treats that don’t contain pumpkin.

I’d love to hear what you’ve been making. What fall treats have you tried in recent weeks?

This looks scrumptious! It also looks like an easy dessert to make. At least your recipe seems easy to follow, and for a NON-cook like myself, that’s a good thing.

Yes, Crystal, this is a great one for non-cooks. It’s super easy to make because it doesn’t require too many ingredients or a lot of measuring.
