Stuck in a rut when it comes to menu planning? When I struggle to come up with new meal ideas, I turn to a few helpful resources.

Sometimes I draw a blank when I sit down to plan a new menu for my family. I’ll want to try something new, but nothing comes to mind. It seems I’m not the only one who experiences this. Becca emailed me with the following question: “I know you plan your menus with an entire month’s meals. Where do you come up with the meal ideas? I … [Read more...] about Where to Find Meal Ideas and Recipes When Menu Planning

What’s for dinner in my house during fall 2016? Menu items include creamy Italian chicken, savory smothered steaks, and a zesty taco skillet.

Our summer has flown by so quickly! I can hardly believe it’s time to begin using a new menu. I’ve detailed the whys and hows of my menu planning previously (read about it here). In summary, I create a new monthly menu at the beginning of each season (fall, winter, spring, and summer). We use each menu for the three months of that … [Read more...] about Fall 2016 Menu

What’s for dinner in my house during summer 2016? Menu items range from a zesty Mexican Rice Bake to a flavorful Honey Sesame Chicken.

As I did this spring, I’ve focused on easy-to-prepare meals while planning my family’s menu for this summer. We’ll probably stick with this menu until I give birth in July and then rely on freezer meals for a time. There are a lot of great meals here, so hopefully we’ll be ready to return to it by August! I’ve described my menu planning … [Read more...] about Summer 2016 Menu

May 30, 2016 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Frozen meals are wonderful because they can be pulled from the freezer and used whenever they are needed. What are some of the best meals to freeze?

Today we are going to answer another question from a reader. It’s timely for me that we examine her question because I’m trying to prepare freezer meals to use after I give birth later this summer. Sharon asked the following: “Hi, I have some friends that are having some health issues and would like to do some cooking for them. I am … [Read more...] about The Best Freezer Meals

Winter 2015 Menu

I know that we’ve entered 2016, but I did not get a chance to share my family’s winter menu last month when we began using it. I’ve detailed my menu planning process previously. Easy Ways to Increase Your Consumption of Vegetables

Do you love vegetables or do you view them as necessary evils? I really enjoy a number of them, but there are also many that I don’t like. My husband enjoys far fewer than I do, so we struggle to eat recommended amounts of these very important foods. Because the health benefits of diets rich in vegetables are so significant (decreased … [Read more...] about Easy Ways to Increase Your Consumption of Vegetables
