The Most Wonderful Things About Autumn

September 23, 2019 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

I enjoy watching the seasons change. I love the order the seasons give our lives, the biblical truths of which they remind us, and the way each transition from one to the next feels like a new beginning. Though I’m typically excited when we change seasons, I’m often extra enthusiastic when we transition to fall.

It’s fall, y’all! Here are 22 things, including cooler temperatures and apple cider, that make the fall season fabulous.

Maybe this is because I live in Texas and the summers are so hot here that I’m desperate for cooler temperatures. Maybe it’s because the flavors of fall foods are so wonderful. Maybe it’s because the colors of fall are so beautiful. Maybe it’s because fall is a precursor to two holidays that I love (Thanksgiving and Christmas). Whatever the reason, autumn is wonderful.

The best things about fall

  • Drinking hot apple cider
  • Engaging in gratitude activities
  • Seeing rich hues of brown, orange, red, and yellow
  • Playing outdoors in comfortable temperatures
  • Eating pumpkin-flavored everything
  • Warming up with comfy blankets
  • Watching the leaves change
  • Picking apples
  • Going on hayrides
  • Starting a new school year
  • Eating soups
  • Enjoying cool breezes
  • Eating winter squash
  • Hearing the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot
  • Watching football
  • Donning cozy scarves
  • Eating caramel apples
  • Attending harvest festivals
  • Drinking pumpkin spice lattes
  • Eating pies
  • Having bonfires
  • Celebrating Thanksgiving

Do you love fall? If so, what are your favorite things about it? What unique things do you do to celebrate the season?

I do love the cooler temperatures! We haven’t had any yet (it’s still in the 90s here), but I know they are coming.
      Thanks for hosting!

My favorite season!!! It’s finally starting to cool down here, which means fuzzy sweaters, chunky socks, and boots are coming out of my closet. I’ve already started making my favorite fall foods!
