10 Bible Verses to Encourage Teachers

August 13, 2020 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

School teachers complete work that is invaluable to our communities. Though this work is rewarding, it is also very challenging. This year, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers are facing numerous uncertainties that add to the typical stress they experience at the beginning of the year.

These Bible verses, contained in a convenient printable, are an excellent way to encourage the teachers in your life!

One powerful way we can encourage the teachers in our lives is to share with them words from Scripture. The Bible has many encouraging things to say to teachers. I’ve listed 10 of these things below. I’ve also placed them in a convenient printable. You can print the verses on regular paper and use scissors to cut them out or you can print them onto sheets of index cards (Avery 5388) and tear these cards at the perforations so that each encouragement is on a 3×5 inch card. The verses are in an editable Microsoft Word template, so you can add additional verses or personal messages for your recipients!

  • “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
  • “In all things show yourself an example of good works. In your teaching, show integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility, and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned, that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.” Titus 2:7-8
  • “Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9
  • “…that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:16-19
  • “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
  • “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
  • “Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
  • “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
  • “The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.” Psalm 37:30
  • “But Jesus said, ‘Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.’” Matthew 19:14

I hope you get an opportunity to share a few of these with your friends, neighbors, and other community members who are teachers!

If, like me, you are a homeschooling mom, you count as a teacher! You need encouragement just like teachers who work at public and private schools. Read over these verses, take them to heart, and be encouraged.

What verses would you add? How do you encourage the teachers in your life?
