Family dinners are such a great time to have meaningful conversations with one another. This may be particularly true on holidays.
Whether you are having a formal or casual dinner this Easter, why not use some thought-provoking questions to get the conversation started and help you get to know your loved ones better?
Thought-provoking questions to ask around the Easter table
I’ve brainstormed 20 questions to ask while eating Easter dinner. I’ve listed the questions below and I’ve placed them in a convenient printable. You can print the questions on regular paper and cut them out with scissors or you can print them onto sheets of business cards (Avery 5881, 8373, 8869, 88220, or 88221) and tear these sheets at the perforations so each question is on a 2 x 3.5 inch card.

- What is your favorite part of Easter?
- What is one unusual tradition or ritual you’d like to make part of your Easter celebration?
- How do you stay focused on the Resurrection throughout the year?
- If you could take an Easter basket to your neighbors, what would you include in it and why?
- What do you appreciate about the change in seasons?
- What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this spring?
- With whom do you need to share the story of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection?
- What family member or friend do you wish was with us at the table today?
- What would be the most amazing thing to find in an Easter egg?
- What is one thing you really love to do as a family?
- What has been the best day of your life so far?
- Where would be the most awesome place to have an Easter egg hunt?
- What is the biggest struggle in your life right now?
- If you could attend an Easter sunrise service in any location on earth, what location would you choose and why?
- What is your favorite holiday and why is it your favorite?
- What is one way you are using your talents to serve others?
- If you had to tell the Easter story in just 10 seconds, how would you tell it?
- What characteristic of someone at the table do you really admire?
- What is your favorite Easter memory?
- What pieces of advice would you pass on to the next generation as they establish their own Easter traditions?
As you can see, I’ve included a number of faith-based questions. If Easter is a secular holiday for your family, then you can simply skip over these. I’ve also left a couple of blank cards on the printable, so you can add in a few questions of your own.
There are several different ways that you can use these cards. Here are a couple of ideas:
- Place a name on each card and use them as place cards.
- Put the cards in a basket and have each family member draw one and answer the question it contains.
- Choose a couple of the questions and have each family member answer them.
- Place each card in a plastic Easter egg and have an egg hunt before dinner. Each family member must answer the questions contained in the eggs he or she finds.
Be creative and enjoy the opportunity to learn more about your loved ones!
If you’re not certain these cards are what you want to use around the Easter table, it’s okay! There are many other fun options, including Would You Rather? Easter Edition, Easter Eggstravaganza Mad Libs, and Easter Bunny Charades.
What questions would you add? What does your family discuss around the Easter table?

I love the idea of using them throughout the week! This would provide a great opportunity to think on a few of the deeper questions.
