Month-by-Month Buying Guide

January 1, 2014 By Shannon This post may contain affiliate links and this site uses cookies. Click here for details.

Have you ever noticed that the prices on some products vary throughout the year? Sometimes this is due to tradition (e.g., January white sales) and sometimes it’s due to practical need (e.g., seasonal items being cleared out to make room for inventory for an upcoming holiday).

I’ve checked with some consumer resources to see which items are most affordable during which months. Here’s what I found:

Month-by-Month Buying Guide | The prices on many products fluctuate throughout the year. Here’s a month-by-month buying guide so you'll know when to find low prices on a variety of items.

(Click on the above image to view and download a printable version of the month-by-month buying guide.)

I’ll be printing this guide and tucking it into my planner so I can easily access it throughout the year. Using the information it provides will help us make judicious purchases, which supports our faithful stewardship of the financial resources God has given us. I hope you’ll benefit from the guide, too.

Is there an item you purchase at a particular time during the year because it is more affordable at that time than during other months or seasons?

A really big choice I have heard is to buy your TV in January–because the Super bowl is coming up. Most people tend to think of the advantage of Black Friday sales but the deals are better in January, if you didn’t already buy,
